Situated at 1250m, with a climate influenced by Mont Blanc, Crest-voland enjoys an excellent snow record and offers a range of pistes, from easy green runs for beginners to more challenging slopes. Crest Voland has a snowpark and a boardercross area. More experienced skiers may wish to purchase a pass for the Espace Diamant which opens up access to some 185kms of diverse and challenging pistes making it the 8th largest ski area in the Alps. A lift takes you to the top of the slopes near Chalet des Oursons and from there you can ski and link in to the Espace Diamant. The return route brings you back to near the apartment building.

Nearby, les Saisies is a centre for cross-country skiing, with 140km of Nordic pistes. Well marked and maintained routes for snowshoeing provide another alternative for those wishing to explore the mountains in winter. A short drive away, exclusive Megeve has a superb patinoire (ice rink), for those with energy left after a day on the snow! Les Saisies has a cinema and Crest-voland and Cernix offer a wide range of restaurants. There are plenty of special events during the winter season ranging from the torch lit descent of Father Christmas to ski competitions. The tourist information office in Crest-voland is always only too happy to help keep you informed of what is happening during your holiday.

Crest-voland and Cernix is well endowed with ski hire shops and ski school. You are able to choose from private lessons or group lessons, in English or French and to suit all ages and abilities. There is plenty of provision for younger children and Crest-voland offers excellent nursery slopes and practice areas. You can book ski lessons in advance, or at quieter times, arrange them during your holiday.
